Please take the time to care for your piercing as recommended for the best results.
General Piercing Aftercare
• Cleaning Solution: Use a saline solution or a piercing aftercare spray (avoid alcohol or hydrogen peroxide).
• How to Clean:
• Wash your hands before touching your piercing.
• Soak a cotton bud with the saline solution and gently clean around the piercing, removing any buildup.
• Do this 2-3 times a day for the first few weeks.
• Do not twist or move the jewellery unnecessarily during cleaning.
• Avoid:
• Touching your piercing with unwashed hands.
• Sleeping on the piercing (for ear and facial piercings).
• Submerging your piercing in pools, lakes, or hot tubs.
• Using harsh chemicals like alcohol or peroxide, which can delay healing.

Piercing-Specific Tips
Ear Piercings (Lobes, Helix, Rook, Daith, Conch, Tragus, Anti-Tragus, Snug, Industrial):
• Avoid sleeping on your fresh piercing to prevent irritation and swelling. Consider using a travel pillow for comfort.
• Be mindful when brushing your hair or wearing headphones.
Nose & Septum Piercings:
• Be gentle when blowing your nose and avoid applying heavy makeup around the area.
• Clean both the inside and outside of the piercing with saline solution.
• Tongue & Oral Piercings (Tongue, Tongue Web, Smiley):
• Rinse your mouth with a non-alcoholic, antiseptic mouthwash or saline solution after eating, drinking, or smoking.
• Stick to soft foods during the first few days, and avoid spicy, hot, or acidic foods that may irritate the piercing.
Facial Piercings (Ashley, Monroe, Labret, Eyebrow, Bridge):
• Avoid heavy makeup or skincare products around the piercing site during healing.
• Be cautious when changing clothes to avoid snagging the piercing.
• Belly Button Piercing:
• Avoid tight clothing or belts that might irritate the piercing.
• Be careful with movements that involve bending at the waist or strenuous activities.
Nipple Piercing:
• Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent irritation.
• Avoid friction from tight clothing or harsh fabrics during the healing period.
Dermal Piercing:
• Protect the area from getting snagged by clothing or jewellery.
• Avoid direct pressure on the piercing to prevent dislodging.
Signs of Healing vs. Infection
Normal Healing:
• Mild swelling, redness, and a bit of clear or white discharge during healing.
• Slight itching as the piercing heals.
Signs of Infection:
• Increased redness, swelling, or warmth around the piercing.
• Green or yellow discharge with a strong odor.
• Persistent pain or a throbbing sensation.
If you notice signs of infection, contact your piercer or a healthcare professional immediately. Do not remove the jewellery yourself, as this can trap the infection inside.
Changing Jewellery
• Wait until your piercing has fully healed before changing the jewellery.
• Always wash your hands and use sterile tools or visit your piercer for assistance.
Additional Tips
• Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet to promote healing.
• Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, as these can delay healing.
• Be patient! Healing times vary for each person, so give your body the time it needs to recover.
